How It Works
- Place the coated panel or sample on a flat and stable surface.
- Select the appropriate measurement angle (typically 20°, 60° or 85° depending on gloss range and instrument model).
- Position the glossmeter head flush against the sample surface.
- Initiate the measurement via the instrument control buttons.
- The glossmeter emits a controlled light beam and detects the reflected light intensity.
- The digital display shows a gloss value in gloss units (GU).
- Record and compare results against specifications or previous batches for quality evaluation.
