How It Works
- Place the test chart or substrate on a flat, stable surface or on an automatic film applicator bed.
- Select the micrometer film applicator and adjust the gap setting to the desired wet film thickness using the calibrated micrometer control.
- Position the applicator so that the calibrated edge contacts the surface.
- Apply a sufficient amount of coating sample along the edge of the applicator within the intended film area.
- Draw the applicator steadily across the panel in one smooth motion.
- The adjustable gap forms a uniform wet film of the specified thickness.
- Allow the applied wet film to level or dry before further testing or evaluation.
This controlled adjustment method enables precise film thickness preparation across a range of coating applications.
